Peter Mant appointed King’s Counsel
39 Essex Chambers are delighted to announce that Peter Mant has been appointed King’s Counsel following the 2024 competition.
Peter, called in 2006, specialises in administrative law, mental capacity, and regulatory law.
He is ranked as a leading junior in The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners where he is described an “excellent advocate”, “calm in the eye of the storm” and “great on his feet”.
Appointments to King's Counsel are made by His Majesty The King on the recommendation of the Lord Chancellor, based on assessments by the independent King's Counsel Selection Panel. The Lord Chancellor will officiate the appointment ceremony at Westminster Hall on Monday 24th March.
The new appointments will bring the number of silks at 39 Essex Chambers to 61.
