About the Event
Vikram Sachdeva KC and Santosh Carvalho of 39 Essex Chambers will examine Grosvenor Property Developers Ltd (In Liquidation) v Portner Law [2026] EWCA Civ 1238, the leading authority on blind-eye dishonesty in which they acted for the successful appellant.
The judgment has significant implications for civil fraud claims generally, and dishonest assistance claims in particular. The session will explore the limits of recklessness as a basis for establishing dishonesty, the distinction between negligence and dishonesty, the role of motive, and the requirements for properly pleading and proving dishonesty.
There will also be an opportunity for Q&A during the webinar. If you would like to submit a question in advance, please send it to events@39essex.com.
