This event will highlight the creativity and innovation driving positive change in both law and the environment, in celebration of the upcoming publication of The Law of Net Zero and Nature Positive.

In addition to the insightful discussions, we are pleased to showcase the artwork of Stephen Tromans KC, offering a unique perspective on the themes explored by the panel.

About the panel

Baroness Rosie Boycott 

Rosie Boycott is a crossbench peer in the House of Lords, Vice-Chair of Peers for the Planet, and a food activist focused on poverty, health, and sustainability. She chaired the London Food Board for ten years, co-founded Spare Rib, and was editor-in-chief of The Independent on Sunday, The Independent, and The Daily Express.


 

Sarah Finch 

Sarah Finch is a freelance writer, editor, and climate campaigner who won a landmark case against oil production in Surrey, bringing it to the UK Supreme Court. The Finch ruling is reshaping government policy on the climate impacts of oil and gas developments.

 

 

Vanessa Havard-Williams 

Vanessa Havard-Williams chaired the UK Transition Finance Market Review which reported in October 2024. She was at Linklaters for over 30 years and was a founder of their environment and ESG practices. She also sits on the advisory board of UK Export Finance. 

 

 

 

Jake White

Jake White trained in commercial law before joining the Government Legal Service, advising on topics like outer space, State aid, and nuclear energy. He later moved to the third sector, working with Friends of the Earth and WWF, where he is now head of legal advocacy and helped file the organization's first UN human rights complaint at COP27 on Amazon deforestation.

Karim Ghaly KC specialises in the litigation and arbitration of substantial commercial disputes in the fields of construction and engineering, energy and natural resources, infrastructure, insurance, maritime projects and PPP/PFI.
