Compulsory Purchase and Compensation

What Our Barristers Do

We advise on the procedures and merits of compulsory purchase and pursue proceedings for the making or confirmation of compulsory purchase orders (CPOs). We then deal with issues on implementing CPO powers. Finally, our barristers deal with compensation disputes for compulsory purchase and other removals of rights.

Who Our Barristers Act For

We act for acquiring authorities, landowners and occupiers, affected neighbours and ministers determining compulsory purchase orders.

Where Our Barristers Act

We advise throughout the compulsory purchase process and appear at inquiries and hearings into compulsory purchase orders. We also appear in Lands Chamber references to determine compensation for compulsory purchase or under the Land Compensation Act. We then act in the High Court and the appellate courts.
