Katherine Apps KC and Monty Fynn in Religion and Belief and Freedom of Expression Discrimination Case in the Court of Appeal

On 28-29 September 2026 Katherine Apps KC and Monty Fynn appeared in the Court of Appeal for Touchstone Leeds, a mental health and wellbeing charity in Ngole v Touchstone Leeds. 

The case concerns the interaction between direct discrimination under the Equality Act 2010, and the rights to freedom of religion and belief and freedom of expression under the European Convention of Human Rights in the context of an unsuccessful application for employment as a discharge mental health support worker in a hospital.
