Nigel Mpemba Patel awarded first place in the Procurement Lawyers’ Association (PLA) 10th Annual Rosie Choueka Memorial Essay Competition
11th November 2025
Congratulations to our pupil barrister, Nigel Mpemba Patel, who has been awarded first place in the Procurement Lawyers’ Association (PLA) 10th Annual Rosie Choueka Memorial Essay Competition!
Nigel’s essay explores what is required under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 to ensure equal treatment of economic operators when dealing with incumbent provider advantage and disadvantage. It also considers whether the obligation under the Procurement Act 2023 to treat suppliers the same marks a change in approach.
Nigel’s paper will be published on the PLA’s website and presented at a future PLA event.
A fantastic achievement on an important topic in procurement law.
