High Court to resolve uncertainty over interpretation of the Mental Health Act 1983

The High Court will make declarations as to whether an examination by the Responsible Clinician is required before the making of a Community Treatment Order, and whether a face-to-face examination is required before a renewal of orders for detention in hospital and guardianship and community treatment.
