13th May 2021

A (4 week) public inquiry has closed into a recovered appeal made against the decision of Medway Council to refuse outline planning permission for 1,250 dwellings and associated infrastructure within Lower Rainham, Kent. The scheme is the largest residential development proposed for Medway district, and amongst one of the most significant regeneration schemes proposed within Kent, in recent years. The decision of the Secretary of State (and Inspector’s report) is anticipated to be published by the end of the year. Housing need, transportation, landscape and heritage were amongst the issues considered.

Juan Lopez acted on behalf of the appellant landowner.
