We act in high-profile inquests in a wide range of matters, from breaches of Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights to clinical negligence, mental health and multi-disciplinary agency failings. We are instructed by coroners as experts. We frequently act in civil proceedings and public law challenges arising out of inquests.

We appear in planning and environmental inquiries, hearings and examinations. These include rural development, regeneration of urban areas, development of housing, roads, airports, sea ports, railways, tramways and bus ways, and football and sports stadiums.

We act as leading counsel for inquiries, interested parties and core participants. Our clients include corporate bodies, government departments, NHS trusts, quasi-governmental organisations, local authorities, regulators and professional membership organisations.

We are regularly instructed by third sector clients, including non-governmental organisations (NGOs). We have expertise in representing clinical practitioners and families.

We appear in Coroner’s Courts and inquiries across England and Wales and internationally, particularly in the Caribbean.
