Emily Formby KC appointed as the first female Chair of the Personal Injuries Bar Association

Chambers is delighted that Emily Formby KC has been appointed as the first female Chair of the Personal Injuries Bar Association

Emily has been involved with PIBA throughout her career and has, for most of that time, served on its Executive board, so she is honoured to be its first female Chair, a post that will run until 2026. Her long experience in clinical negligence and personal injury cases means she is acutely aware of the toll practice can take on the legal teams involved so she intends particularly to focus on collective wellbeing and support; increasing diversity among practitioners; and actively challenging and reducing the gender pay gap. She will continue to practice alongside the role.
