Sydney Arbitration Week – David Bateson to chair panel at the 4th International Arbitration Conference

David Bateson will be chairing a panel on Recent Issues in International Arbitration at the at the 4th International Arbitration Conference on 22 November 2016 at Sydney Arbitration Week (21 – 25 November 2016).

The issues to be discussed by the panel will include:

  • Developments in third party funding;
  • Are enforcement courts mandated to follow decisions of courts at the seat?- recent developments in the Astro v Lippo dispute;
  • Rebalancing the relationship between the Courts and Arbitration - a response to the Baili lecture 2016 delivered by the Lord Chief Justice of England & Wales, the Right Honourable the Lord Thomas of Cwmgiedd.
The 4th International Arbitration Conference, exploring New Horizons in International Arbitration, is co-hosted by ACICA, the Business Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Australia) and will be followed by the CIArb Annual Gala Dinner at Sydney Towers.

Also attending Sydney Arbitration Week from 39 Essex Chambers will be Ben Olbourne, David Barnes and Rod Noble.
