Secretary of State Recovers Rainham Regeneration Appeal

The Secretary of State has directed his recovery of an appeal made against the June 2020 decision of Medway Council to refuse outline planning permission for the regeneration of part of Rainham, Kent. The appeal scheme, which includes up to 1250 dwellings, is due to be considered at public inquiry in February 2021, by virtual platform. Housing, sustainability and inclusive community issues engaged by the proposal have been stated in support of the direction made.
