The Recruitment Process

You will need to complete our Application Form and then return it to us at the email address provided.

When returning your Application Form, please also complete and return our Equality and Diversity Monitoring Form.

We may not be able to respond to every application individually.  You will, however, receive an automatic reply to your email acknowledging receipt of your application.

We will only consider applications from individuals who are eligible to work in the United Kingdom.

Applications will be subject to a paper sift and then a shortlist of candidates will be invited to interview.  If you don’t hear from us, you will not have got through to the interview stage.  Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to give feedback at the application stage.

We would like to meet you in person if possible, so interviews will be conducted in person at our London office.

The interview process will be around 2 hours – it will consist of a number of short exercises and then an interview panel.  The best way to prepare for the interview is to read the Job Description and Person Specification, and your application in full.  You should also research Chambers and consider why you would like the job and why you want to work for us.   Whilst it is a formal process, there will be lots of opportunities for you to ask questions and hopefully get a feel for the atmosphere at 39 Essex Chambers.

 

Successful Candidates

We will let you know within a couple of days if you have been successful.  We will discuss with you a starting date, referees and we will do a right to work check.  There will be an offer letter and contract of employment sent to you.

We will also try and meet up with you informally before your start date – we are very close to both overland and underground stations, so it is easy to reach us.

When you start, you will have your own personalised induction programme and full training will be given.
