Publication of IRAL Panel Report

Yesterday saw the publication of the report of The Independent Review of Administrative Law set up by the Government in July 2020 to examine trends in Judicial Review and to deliberate on any recommendations for reform. The review was conducted by a panel of 6 experts appointed by the MOJ; chaired by Lord Faulks QC and which included both Vikram Sachdeva QC and Celina Colquhoun of 39 Essex Chambers.

The Lord Chancellor has described it as "well-researched and closely argued Report which reflects the diversity of views on Judicial Review. I am very grateful to Lord Faulks and his colleagues for an impressive piece of work undertaken to a tight timetable."

The Government is now consulting on further reforms including those recommended by the IRAL panel.

The report and the consultation can be found here.
