Oxford University Hospitals agree to offer maternal request caesareans

The charity Birthrights has been in discussion with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since 2020 about ensuring that pregnant women in Oxfordshire are able to access maternal request caesarean sections in accordance with the relevant NICE Guidance. Previously, women who did not want to follow a psychiatric pathway were required to travel to another county.  Agreement has now been given from the Trust that maternal request caesarean sections will be carried out in Oxford shire.
