Lindy Patterson QC to speak at Dubai Arbitration Week

Lindy Patterson QC will be speaking at Dubai Arbitration Week (taking place between 16th - 19th November), presented virtually by GAR Interactive and DIFC-LCIA.

Lindy will be moderating a panel discussion on 17th November, at 2.35pm, on 'Examining the shifting borders of Middle-Eastern commerce'.

The session will explore whether the UAE has what it takes to be an arbitration hub of choice rather than necessity as Dubai and Abu Dhabi quietly lead the Middle East onto a world stage historically led by London, Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore in response to increased interstate commerce and economic activity in and through the region. This discussion will cover how UAE entities are expanding into new countries, and avoiding the pitfalls when dealing with these locations.

The panel includes Babatunde Fagbohunlu, SAN of Aluko & Oyebode, Reza Mohtashami QC of Three Crowns and Ismail Selim of the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration.
