Thames Ditton Aldi Planning Appeal Dismissed

A Planning Inspector has dismissed an appeal brought by Aldi against a refusal by Elmbridge County Council to grant for planning permission for the construction a supermarket in Thames Ditton. Following a seven-day inquiry, David Wildsmith concluded that Aldi's proposed development would cause unacceptable heritage harm to the setting of both the Thames Ditton and Weston Green Conservation Area and the Grade II-listed Angel Inn pub. He also concluded that the proposed development would cause unacceptable harm to the amenity of neighbouring properties.

Jake Thorold represented the successful Thames Ditton and Weston Green Residents Association.
