Nyasha Weinberg published research archive on why UK Regional Policy has failed

On 26 October, Nyasha Weinberg published a paper on ‘Why has Regional Policy Failed’ sponsored by the Harvard Kennedy School; the Department of Political Economy and the Policy Institute, King’s College London; and the Gatsby Foundation. The project has been conducted with the cooperation of HM Treasury. Drawing on interviews with ninety-three top level political and official policymakers in the UK including three Prime Ministers and six Chancellors spanning six decades of experience the paper identifies past efforts at addressing regional policy and summarise practitioners’ views on the lessons today’s political leaders can learn.
