Nicola Greaney, Fiona Paterson and Katherine Apps to be appointed King’s Counsel

We are delighted to announce that Nicola Greaney, Fiona Paterson and Katherine Apps are to be appointed King’s Counsel following the 2022 competition.

Nicola, called in 1999, has a multi-disciplinary practice encompassing clinical negligence, Court of Protection (health and welfare and property and affairs), public and regulatory law, personal injury, costs and sports law.

Fiona, called in 2003, specialises in Court of Protection and medical treatment, administrative and public, and regulatory and disciplinary.

Katherine, called in 2006, has a practice that spans public and human rights law, disciplinary and regulatory, EU, employment and commercial law

The new appointments will bring the number of silks at 39 Essex Chambers to 54.

They will officially be sworn in at a ceremony before the Lord Chancellor at Westminster Hall on the 27th March 2023.
