Judgment in Scunthorpe United FC v Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership and North Lincolnshire Council

On Friday 9 November 2018 HHJ Kramer, sitting in the administrative court in Leeds, handed down judgment dismissing a claim in judicial review brought by Scunthorpe United Football Club ('SUFC') against the decision of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership ('GLLEP') to grant £1.9million to the building of the northern junction project at Lincolnshire Lakes in Scunthorpe. The grant was awarded to North Lincolnshire Council for the project following an application by SUFC for the monies to be transferred to the southern junction in the Lincolnshire Lakes Area Action Plan area.

The claim was brought on grounds of irrationality and procedural unfairness, all of which were dismissed by the Judge.
