With the coming into force on 1 November 2023 of the new environmental governance duty in section 19 Environment Act 2021, 39 Essex Chambers’ Planning/Environment Group invites you to a virtual breakfast briefing featuring a discussion between Katherine Barnes and Stephanie David on the implications for policy-making and decision-making of:

• Duty on Government - section 19 Environment Act 2021
• Duty to conserve and enhance biodiversity - section 40 Natural Environment and Rural Communities Act 2006 (as amended by section 102 Environment Act 2021)
