The jurisdiction of the newly specialist Media and Communications List and the future of DPA damages
David Mitchell is presenting a webinar at Europe's longest running defamation conference, on Wednesday 9th September. The conference will run all day, although David will be speaking between 14:10 - 14:45 (GMT). Topics he will be covering include:
- Jurisdictional issues concerning the treatment of all defamation, misuse of private information, data protection or harassment by publication claims under the umbrella of the new CPR Part 53 and PDs 53A and 53B.
- Defending claims and applying to transfer to the County Court.
- The treatment of DPA damages in light of Aven and Ors v Orbis Business Intelligence Ltd [2020] EWHC 1812 (QB).
