Sean Wilken QC and Jess Connors successfully act for Petrobras Oil and Gas BV in US$5bn field allocation international energy arbitration

Sean Wilken QC and Jess Connors successfully acted for Petrobras Oil and Gas BV in a long running series of arbitrations brought by Statoil against Petrobras' Nigerian subsidiary as well as Chevron. The arbitrations concerned the percentage stakes held by Statoil, Petrobras' Nigerian subsidiary and Chevron in the very large Agbami Field offshore Nigeria. In the spring of this year, the arbitrations concluded with all Statoil's claims being rejected causing a transfer of over US$1.1bn in oil from Statoil to the other parties.
