Chambers is looking to recruit two Assistant Practice Managers to join our highly successful and busy clerking teams.

Candidates should have at least 1 years clerking experience. They will be expected to be able to multitask and keep calm under pressure.  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are essential, together with exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal with professional enquiries about the experience and availability of barrister members to assist with the provision of legal advice and advocacy
  • Organise bookings, listings and diary management for members.
  • Organise meetings, Court listings efficiently and effectively
  • Assist senior staff members with diary management
  • Billing timesheets and liaising with fees clerks
  • Overseeing the administration of diary management
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for all members
  • Maintaining good working relationships with members, clients and staff
  • Any other reasonable tasks as requested.

Technical work-based skills:

  • LEX experience – desirable

Personal Qualities:

The successful candidates will be innovative, flexible, enjoy working as part of a team but also able to work using their own initiative.  They will have the following skills/knowledge and ideally have at least 1 years’ relevant experience:

  • Minimum 1 years’ clerking experience. – essential.
  • At least two A levels or degree level education – desirable
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills – essential.
  • Able to multitask and operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment– essential
  • Flexible and self-motivated, a positive attitude and a team player – essential.
  • A good level of IT literacy (experience of case management software desirable) – essential
  • Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Proven marketing and business development experience – desirable.
  • Experience of practice management – essential
