Professor Andrea Biondi further bolsters 39 Essex Chambers' EU law capabilities.

39 Essex Chambers is pleased to announce that it has appointed Andrea Biondi, Professor of European Union Law and Director of the Centre of European Law at King's College London, as an academic associate.

Professor Biondi has a distinguished academic record with visiting positions at leading European Universities, including Bocconi University in Milan and Freie Universität in Berlin. Since 2015 he has been the Senior Legal Advisor on EU law to the office of the Prime Minister of Italy. Professor Biondi's research interests are in European Union law, with particular emphasis on state aid law, trade law and regulation as well as judicial protection of EU rights. He has published extensively on each of these areas and has provided expert opinions in related arbitration and litigation hearings.

Professor Andrea Biondi, says of his new appointment:
