The Mencap Legal Network Pro Bono Programme last night won the Most Effective Partnership Award at the 2019 Law Works Awards 2019, presented by Lady Hale, President of the Supreme Court.

The Awards, which took place on the 3rd December, recognise and celebrate the pro bono commitment of LawWorks members, their charity and corporate partners, and the work of independent clinics in the LawWorks Clinics Network.

Mencap is a charity that supports persons with learning disabilities and 39 Essex Chambers offers it free legal advice through its legal network and a panel of barristers which includes Victoria Butler-Cole QC, Katharine Scott, Fiona Patterson, Alexis Hearnden, Peter Mant, Katherine Apps, Annabel Lee, Nicola Kohn, Adam Boukraa, Katherine Barnes,  Rachel Sullivan and Stephanie David.

Chambers’ Senior Practice Manager Peter Campbell administers the panel with Ben Connor. Last month they were jointly awarded ‘Pro Bono Chambers’ Staff Member of the Year’ at the Bar Pro Bono Awards 2019.
