Lindy Patterson QC to speak at the FIDIC International Contract Users' Conference 2018

Lindy Patterson QC is to speak at the FIDIC International Contract Users' Conference 2018, which will be held at the Novotel London West on 4th and 5th December 2018. Lindy's sessions will be on the 5th December 2018.

The first session will be a panel discussion on Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

This session examines the impact of the changes in the 2017 FIDIC forms of contract on the resolution of disputes, focusing on the opportunities for avoiding and minimising their effects on the parties and on the project. There will also be an update on trends in international arbitration, based on a major recent study of current practice. Panellists will examine:

• Claims and disputes – their inter-relationship and how the 2017 FIDIC provisions affect it
• The role of Alternative Dispute Resolution under FIDIC: Beyond the DAAB and into Amicable Settlement and ADR techniques
• Current trends in International Arbitration: - use of technology, - interim measures and; - proceedings relating to incomplete projects
