"One week into Donald Trump's imposition of tariffs on aluminium and steel and it is not just the workers in those industries who are getting nervous.

Trade lawyers are speaking out about the threat that Trump's actions could pose to the stability of the rules-based global trading system as embodied in the World Trading Organisation (WTO). In fulfilling his election promise to the rustbelt Trump could be subverting the foundations of the WTO regime. And the ramifications of that are very serious.
