Katherine Apps argues challenge in the EU General Court in Luxembourg: T-301/18 EPSU v Commission

On 23 May 2019 Katherine Apps appears in the General Court of the EU to argue the first action for annulment ever brought by a Trade Union against the European Commission. Katherine is instructed by Richard Arthur at Thompsons Solicitors to act for the European Federation of Public Service Unions ("EPSU") and their General Secretary.

The case concerns Title X of the Treaty of the Functioning of the European Union (which used to be called the "Social Chapter" which the UK initially opted out of). EPSU challenge the Commission's decision  in which they refused to propose the Council adopt by Directive the text of proposed legislation agreed between the social partners. The text of the agreement relates to information and consultation of employees who work for central government.
