Joe-han Ho successful in resisting a stay application in a US$1.22 billion banking dispute

Andrew Baker J has dismissed the GVK defendants' attempt to stay a US$1.22 billion banking dispute until March 2022. The learned judge held that the grounds for the application did not accord with the defendants' pleaded case, and the claimants were entitled to press on towards trial. Directions were given for a trial in the Trinity Term 2022, with a time estimate of 6-8 days.
