Jenni Richards QC and Fenella Morris QC represent the First and Second Interveners in Court of Appeal hearing by Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba

Jenni Richards QC and Fenella Morris QC will represent the First and Second Interveners in the Court of Appeal hearing by Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba against the GMC to have her struck off the medical register, which will begin on Wednesday 25th July 2018.

The doctor was convicted of gross negligence manslaughter following the death of six-year-old down syndrome boy, Jack Adcock, in February 2011. After a 2015 trial at Nottingham Crown Court, Dr Bawa-Garba was sentenced to two years in prison suspended for two years.

The GMC had asked the High Court to give a direction of erasure from the medical register.

This will be an important appeal which will be heard by Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett, Master of the Rolls Sir Terence Etherton and Lady Justice Rafferty.
