High Court Upholds Registration of Gender Hormone Clinic

On 31 July 2025 the High Court handed down judgment in R (Evans) v Care Quality Commission [2025] EWHC 2015.

The judge (Mrs Justice Eady DBE) upheld a decision of the Care Quality Commission (“CQC”) to register Gender Plus Hormone Clinic (“GPHC”) as a provider of regulated health services, including provision of hormone treatment for 16 and 17 year olds. GPHC is the first private gender hormone clinic to be registered in the UK.
