Five members of 39 Essex Chambers appear in landmark deprivation of liberty case

The Supreme Court has today handed down judgment in the cases of P v Cheshire West and P and Q v Surrey County Council, judgments which been awaited with impatience since the cases were heard in October 2013. This case has wide ranging implications on the meaning of deprivation of liberty under Article 5 ECHR. Five members of Thirty Nine Essex Street (Jenni Richards QC, Fenella Morris QC, Neil Allen, Peter Mant and Benjamin Tankel) were instructed in this matter.
