Aviation and Aerospace
What our barristers do
We offer expertise in all aspects of aviation and aerospace matters. We advise and represent both UK and international clients on the planning and development of airports, heliports and aviation-related infrastructure. We also advise on related environmental, commercial, financial, construction, civil liability and regulatory matters.
Who our barristers act for
We act for the full range of clients in the sector, including international airlines, operators of private, domestic, regional and international airports, passenger carriers and freight forwarders, owners of single aircraft and fleets of aircraft, leasing companies, aircraft and aerospace manufacturers and suppliers. We also act for local authorities and other public bodies as well as private individuals, local residents and groups of objectors to aviation expansion.
Where our barristers act
Our barristers regularly appear in the High Court and Court of Appeal in aviation-related judicial reviews, statutory challenges, and commercial and construction law disputes. We represent clients at planning and development consent order (DCO) inquiries into proposals to expand aviation, at Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) investigations and inquiries into air accidents, and before Parliamentary Bill Committees.
Our barristers also act as mediators, arbitrators and counsel in dispute resolution hearings and arbitrations in the UK and internationally, particularly in the Middle East and Asia.
