Climate change

What our barristers do

Climate change pervades many areas of environmental law, in planning and permitting, schemes  to reduce emissions from transport, disputes and judicial review. We act on planning and DCO applications that have implications for carbon emissions, such as airports, mining and hydrocarbon extraction, and in litigation arising from such cases.

We advise on obligations arising under the Climate Change Act 2008 and international law.

Who our barristers act for

Our barristers act for the full range of clients in this area, including developers and industrial operators, central government and local authorities, government agencies, interest groups and environmental NGOs.

Where our barristers act

Our barristers appear in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, public inquiries, Development Consent Order (DCO) inquiries and before Parliamentary Bill Committees.
