EU Law
What our barristers do
We act in a wide range of EU law disputes and advise on EU law compliance, including in relation to subsidies, state aid, competition, EU regulatory law, including regulations such as REACH, immigration law, public procurement, customs and international trade, as well as the interaction of EU law and international law.
Our barristers have particular expertise in dealing with matters where EU law intersects with other issues, such as EU law issues arising in international arbitration, sports law, data protection and energy.
Who our barristers act for
In both disputes and compliance matters, we act for both claimants and defendants.
Our clients include local and central government, regulatory bodies, high net worth individuals, the third sector, UK companies, multinationals and institutions, as well as interested parties in disputes.
We also act for bodies who wish to make submissions to EU institutions.
Where our barristers act
Our barristers act in EU law matters in all of the courts and tribunals of the UK, with particular experience in appearing in the leading public procurement, state aid and subsidy cases before the UK courts.
In addition to those, our barristers also appear before the Competition Appeals Tribunal, the Tax Tribunal, the Immigration Tribunal and other tribunals in EU law matters.
Several of our barristers are admitted in other European jurisdictions, including Ireland, Germany and Belgium, and may appear before the Court of Justice of the European Union.
