About the Event

39 Essex Chambers would like to invite you to a panel discussion chaired by Katherine Apps KC with Deok Joo Rhee KC, Parishil Patel KC, Rose Grogan, Katherine Barnes and Gething Thomas, followed by a drinks reception at our London office on Tuesday, 28 January 2025.

The discussion will be wide ranging covering both the new Act, and how it may work in the evolving legal landscape. The sessions will cover:

• Which of the new provisions will really be different from the existing law in practice?
• What is the extent of the new debarment power? Will it achieve its purpose? 
• Will ESG and Net Zero play an increased role in procurement?
• What issues will need to be considered when a procurement is abandoned? Are there new lines for challenge?
• How best to navigate the new law when amending existing contracts? Are there new lines for challenge?
• How much influence will EU law have under the new law?
• Will Judicial Review have more or less of a role in the procurement litigation from 2025?
