About the event

Professor Alison Young chairs our seminar looking at the public law issues in relation to powers and duties of public bodies towards children and young people.  The speakers will address topics across the spectrum of health, social care, education and deprivation of liberty issues, as well as focusing on particular groups such as care leavers, those with Education and Health Care Plans, and unaccompanied asylum seekers. 

Topics discussed:

• Law and practice: what’s going wrong with EHCP;
• Care assessments;
• Education statutory duties outside the C&FA 2014; and
• LA powers and duties in relation to care leavers and unaccompanied asylum seeking children
