John Pugh-Smith and Stephen Tromans will present their regular Annual Update of leading cases in Environmental and Planning Law over the past 12 months.
There have been numerous developments in both areas. These include:
John Pugh-Smith has been instructed by many developers and local authorities for a number of years. He is regarded as a leading and highly experienced junior barrister specialising in planning and environmental law. His publications include, for Sweet & Maxwell, Archaeology in Law (1996) (with Dr John Samuels), Neighbours and the Law (4th Edition 2006) (originating author and now general editor) and, for Oxford University Press, Environmental Law (2000) (contributor and general editor). He is also a joint editor of P&CR case reports, a regular contributor to the Journal of Planning & Environment Law and presenter of Sweet & Maxwellâ€™s Annual Planning Case Law Update.
Stephen Tromans practises in the field of environmental and planning law, with related work in commercial, contract, public, EC and energy law. During 2007 he was involved in a number of reported cases in the High Court, Court of Appeal and European Court of Justice on matters such as environmental assessment, pollution control, waste legislation, and radioactive waste disposal. His books include titles on contaminated land (the second edition of which was published in 2007), nuclear installations, environmental impact assessment and planning law.
