Environment Bill in Parliament: Beginning of the End

This week, the Environment Bill reaches the final stages of its passage through Parliament: the consideration of amendments. It returns to the House of Commons with a series of significant amendments, passed by the House of Lords. The majority of the amendments were passed in the face of government opposition, but several amendments were passed which had been proposed by the government.
