Driverless Cars - Who's in Control?

On 26 January 2022, the Law Commission of England and Wales and the Scottish Law Commission published their joint report on automated vehicles. The report is wide ranging and covers a whole host of important issues which will need to be considered by the government ahead of any new legislation on connected and autonomous vehicles.

On 1st March, Scarlett Milligan will present her top 10 takeaways from the report before opening up to a Q&A session. Her presentation will cover the key civil liability and insurance aspects of the report, including:

• Legal liability for accidents in 'driverless' cars;
• If and how product liability laws need to change to accommodate driverless cars and other future technologies; and
• The regulatory framework for approval of self-driving vehicles.
