Challenges made to lack of national framework for treatment prioritisation during COVID-19 pandemic

Barristers at 39 Essex Chambers are instructed by two leading law firms to challenge the lack of a national framework for treatment prioritisation, if demand for life-sustaining treatment outstrips supply during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both claims are brought by people who are concerned that they will be deprioritised for treatment as a result of their impairments or additional health needs.

Parishil Patel QC and Gethin Thomas are instructed by Bindmans LLP, whose press release is here.

Steve Broach and Ruth Keating are instructed by Rook Irwin Sweeney LLP, whose press release is here.
