Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act

CategorySeminar Archive Author Alexander Ruck Keene Date

This seminar will outline the scope and implications of this wide-ranging Act, which strengthens and widens the powers of local authorities to manage the local environment, both by way of combating low-level crimes and tackling environmental blights such as fly-tipping, abandoned vehicles and light pollution.

Particular attention will be paid to the new powers given to issue fixed penalty notices rather than prosecute offenders, and consideration given to the resource implications of the new powers in the Act.

Papers will be presented by Martin Edwards and Alex Ruck Keene.
