Professor Alison Young*

Alison Young is the Sir David Williams Professor of Public Law at the University of Cambridge. She is a Fellow of Robinson College, Cambridge and an Emeritus Fellow of Hertford College, Oxford. She also currently serves as a legal advisor to the House of Lords Select Committee on the Constitution and is a trustee of the Constitution Society, a member of council for JUSTICE, a vice-president of ALBA, and a co-editor of the UKCLA constitutional law blog.

Her research is in public law and public law theory, looking mostly at constitutional law, comparative rights protections and administrative law. She is currently looking at populism, focusing on explaining the particular dangers of populism in the UK constitution and how these dangers can be minimised.
