B v D (by his litigation friend, the Official Solicitor) & Ministry of Defence [2017] EWCOP 15.

Baker J decides provisionally that a brain injured man can undergo experimental and unlicensed stem cell transplant treatment for his brain injury in Belgrade, Serbia on the basis that D has a strong wish to undergo the treatment and that safety would be bought at too high a price in terms of happiness and emotional welfare if he were to be denied the opportunity to undergo the treatment.

The court has required further medical reports and other evidence to be produced before a final decision is made.
