'Archaic' CPO system needs to be updated, Richard Harwood OBE QC (Development Finance Today)

Compulsory purchase orders (CPOs) can bewilder recipients and the system needs to be clarified. Two weeks ago, Hounslow Council used a CPO to acquire land that had been earmarked for a significant residential development.

However, Richard Harwood OBE QC, told Development Finance Today that while CPOs can be justified, the law should be made clearer for those on the receiving end.
