Andrew Tabachnik acts for the SRA in disciplinary proceedings against Professor Philip Shiner

The Solicitors Regulation Authority has brought disciplinary charges against Professor Philip Shiner arising out of his involvement with the Al-Sweady claimants, whose allegations of murder and torture of Iraqi civilians by the British Army were investigated by the Al-Sweady Inquiry.  In a letter to the Tribunal dated 7 December 2016, Professor Shiner admitted a number of charges (some fully and some partially), and denied others.  On 8 December 2016, the SRA published on its website a list of the charges and of Professor Shiner’s admissions.

The full hearing commenced on the 30th January 2017.

Andrew Tabachnik is instructed by Russell-Cooke LLP, on behalf of the Solicitors Regulation Authority who have brought the case against Mr Shiner.
