Alex Ruck Keene Nominated for 'Family Law Commentator of the Year'

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Alex Ruck Keene has been nominated for the 'Family Law Commentator of the Year' at this year's Lexis Nexis Family Law Awards.

The Family Law Awards were launched in 2011 to recognise the important work of family lawyers, and celebrate their many successes and outstanding achievements.

In addition to his practice, Alex is dedicated to the promotion of better practice and better knowledge of the MCA 2005 and mental capacity law more generally. He spends a significant proportion of his time lecturing and training lawyers, members of the judiciary, clinicians, social workers and others concerned with the MCA 2005. He is a Wellcome Research Fellow at Kings College London and a Research Affiliate at the Essex Autonomy Project. As a Visiting Professor at Kings College London, he co-leads the Mental Health, Ethics and the Law MSc at King's College London, and is also a Visiting Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King's College London.

He does extensive work in print and on the internet both to educate fellow legal professionals and to promote legal literacy amongst health and social care professionals.  Together with Victoria Butler-Cole QC, he set up the Mental Capacity Law Report which has been described by Chambers & Partners as a 'bible' for solicitors working in the area.

The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 24th November in London. You can find out more on The Family Law Awards website.
