Change Around the Corner? The Law Commission's Review of the Arbitration Act 1996

In news that will no doubt be at the forefront of many practitioners' minds, the Law Commission has recently announced that it plans to review the Arbitration Act 1996 with 'a view to ensuring it is as clear, modern and efficient as possible and, if necessary, suggest possible amendments'[1]. The aim of the review is said to be to 'maintain the attractiveness of England and Wales as a "destination" for dispute resolution and the pre-eminence of English Law as a choice of law'[2].
