39 Essex Chambers to speak and exhibit at the LLG Governance Conference 2018 in Gateshead

39 Essex Chambers will be speaking and exhibiting at the LLG Governance Conference, which will take place at the Hilton Gateshead (Newcastle) on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th October 2018.

Eleanor Grey QC and Nicola Greaney will be speaking at the event on "Non-Statutory Inquiries and Internal Investigations: A 'How To' Guide"  -  In an era of increased public scrutiny and demands for accountability, public bodies are looking for mechanisms by which to investigate allegations of individual wrongdoing or organisational failings.  Central government departments, local authorities and public bodies alike are increasingly looking to ad hoc non-statutory public inquiries or investigations to provide an independent and fair process to fulfil this function. Drawing on experience of members of Chambers across a range of statutory and non-statutory public inquiries, this session will provide a guide to establishing and running such an inquiry or investigation.

39 Essex Chambers will also be exhibiting at the event (on stand 2) with Phil Desmondez (Marketing Executive), Michael Kaplan (Senior Clerk) and Sheraton Doyle (Senior Practice Manager) in attendance.
